Tips for bridal lingerie shopping
Be comfortable.
Comfort is the most important thing. You will be wearing your undergarments for many hours on your special day, so you don’t want to be pulling on straps or complaining about poor fitting lingerie.
Choose the right style.
Strapless gowns
Our recommendation: Strapless bra
Once fitted properly, your strapless bra will stay on all day and you will feel supported and comfortable.
Low-cut gowns
Our recommendation: Bustier
Bustiers offer great support and force you to stand up straight (which is great if you have the wedding jitters!) The light boning in bustiers prevents them from sliding down, so they are a great alternative to strapless bras.
Silky or form fitting gowns
Our recommendation: Seamless panties
Seamless panties come in variety of styles from hipsters with laser cut sides to thongs or G-strings to avoid visible panty lines.
Match colours.
If your dress is white, wear white, cream or nude coloured lingerie underneath. You don’t want to ruin the ensemble with dark lingerie peeking out from underneath.
Honeymoon time.
Your honeymoon is a time of romance and passion so this should be reflected in your lingerie selection. You can choose a traditional white or ivory bridal lingerie set or you can be creative and go for black or colours… Bridal garter belts are sexy when worn alone or to accessorize your lingerie set. If you’ve never worn a corset before, it may not be the best choice for your honeymoon since it can be quite difficult to lace up yourself. Instead consider something flirty like a babydoll, chemise or matching bra and panties set.

Bridal Shower at the Lilac Boutique
Planning weddings can be stressful so let us take care of organizing your bridal shower. We will treat your bridal party to an evening of elegance, fun and laughter. All you have to do is relax and indulge in an evening of pampering.
For a flat fee of $90 your evening will include the privacy of the venue, bridal shower decorations, music of your choice and complimentary bra fittings for all guests.
Optionally you can choose from a variety of add-ons to personalize the evening.
Add-ons:
- Hot stone hand massage by Renu Spa $100 (2 hours)
- Mini-cupcakes from The Flour Shoppe $35 (per 2 dozen)
- Champagne 2 bottles $55 (includes liquor license)
- Sushi platter from the Naked Fish Sushi $25 (platter for 5)
- Tea pitcher from David's Tea $8 (1 pitcher)
- Make up by Yelena Perunov $45 (per person)
- Lilac photographer on site for candid photos of you and your guests $200 (including the photos)
